Energy is the second-largest cost in indoor farming, and on most farms it exists as exactly one number: the bill. One number cannot be attributed to a crop, a room or a batch — and what cannot be attributed cannot be managed.
The platform meters kWh at the rack. Consumption is recorded rack by rack, over time, and priced at your rate — which turns power into a cost that can sit against the cycle that consumed it, alongside seed, media, nutrients, packaging and labor, in the cost of a pound.
So when the basil margin is thin, you can see whether it is thin because of the seed, the labor or the lights. We are not going to claim we optimize your HVAC. We are going to tell you what it cost you.

The things people actually ask.
Do we need special hardware for this?
Per-rack numbers need per-rack metering — a building meter gives you a building number and nothing more. Where AGEYE hardware is installed the metering comes with it; on an existing farm, meters connect through the same adapters the platform uses for other third-party equipment.
Does it reduce our energy use?
No. Setpoints come from the crop recipe and are driven by Controls and Automation. Energy is the ledger, not the controller — its job is to tell you what a crop actually cost you in power, so that the decision you make about it is an informed one.
Is this carbon accounting?
No. This is kilowatt-hours and dollars. We do not produce carbon or ESG reports, and we would rather tell you that than ship a number nobody can defend.
